Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance energy recovering efficiency, by using as medium a mixture of soft hydrocarbons having a composition the condensation curve of which is substantially equal to the vaporization curve of liquefied natural gas (LNG). CONSTITUTION:As a medium, there is used a mixture of soft hydrocarbons having a composition the condensation curve of which is substantially equal to the vaporization curve of LNG. Here, if vaporizing temperature of LNG is raised by increasing vaporizing pressure of LNG, for instance, from 8.5kg/cm<2>-70kg/cm<2>, vaporization curve of LNG is made to closely conform to the condensation curve of medium, so that cold heat possessed by LNG can be recovered most efficiently. At the same time, by causing linear expansion of re-gasified natural gas and thereby recovering cold heat of LNG in a lower temperature region, energy possessed by LNG can be recovered more efficiently.
