Abstract

PURPOSE: To vaporize the liquefied natural gas (LNG) effectively without being affected by seasonal changes by bringing the vapor of a heat medium to the saturated pressure at the temperature of a heat source in a process in which an intermediate heat medium is vaporized by heating, liquefied natural gas is vaporized by utilizing its heat of condensation, and then the liquid medium is recycled for reuse.
CONSTITUTION: The liquid propane 1 as the intermediate heat medium is vaporized by heating by means of the sea water 19 in an evaporator 3, and then the propane vapor is sent to a condensor 5 where LNG 20 in a heat exchanger 4 is vaporized by the heat of condensation of propane. The condensed propane is directed through the conduit 8 into the evaporator 3, atomized into the heat medium vaporization portion 2 through a nozzle, and then heat-exchanged directly with vaporized propane for vaporization. By keeping the propane vapor at the saturated pressure at the temperature of the sea water as a heat source in this way, the recovery of energy of Rankine system with the intermediate heat medium can be made maximum and LNG can be therefore vaporized effectively.
