Abstract
1310800 Revaporizing cold liquefied gas BLACK SIVALLS & BRYSON Inc 23 Nov 1971 [3 Feb 1971] 54353/71 Heading F4P Revaporization of cold liquefied gas, e.g. natural gas, is effected by passage of a stream thereof through first and second banks 60, 62 of heat exchanger tubes 52, 54 immersed in a body of heated and continuously vaporized liquid 80, e.g. water confined within a cylindrical vessel 20, and the partly vaporized liquid methane is then passed through a third bank 64 of tubes located in the vapour space of vessel 20 resulting in condensation of the water vapour and complete vaporization of the liquid methane which is discharged at 50. As shown the water 80 is heated by a V- shaped firebox 38 containing hot products of combustion of a natural gas burner 40. In the event of failure of the burner or fuel supply thereto resulting in cooling of the water 80 to just above freezing point the water is automatically dumped through a duct 96 having a temperature controlled valve (94), Fig. 1 (not shown).
