Abstract
PURPOSE: To recover electric power at a thermal power plant by evaporating LNG under a low pressure and in a short dwell time, by employing an arrangement in which heating medium such as carbon dioxide or Flon is heated by not only sea water or warm water but also by use of waste gas of boiler.
CONSTITUTION: LNG in reservoir tank 1 is carried by pump 2 to heating-medium condenser 3, in which temperature of LNG is raised and it is evaporated through heat exchanging with heating medium of incombustible or fire-retardant material. LNG thus evaporated is heated near to normal temperature through heat exchanging with warm sea water or the like and the supplied as fuel to boiler 6 of thermal power plant via gas tank 5 where liquefied gas is stored temporarily. On the other hand, heating medium condensed in condensed in condenser 3 is carried to preheater 8 by means of pump 7. In ths preheater 8, heating medium is preheated through heat exchanging with sea water, and then superheated in heat exchanger 10 by the heat possessed by waste gas of boiler 6. The superheated gas is carried to turbine 11 for driving generator 13, and the recirculated to condenser 3.
