Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to evade a pseudo-leading-in state securely by providing a method of obtaining a frequency error signal, which corresponds to the difference between the carrier frequency of a phase-shift modulated signal and the output frequency of a voltage control oscillator, independently of a phase synchronous loop. CONSTITUTION:As a carrier reproduction loop almost enters into a psuedo-leading- in state, output (i) of low-pass filter 26 begins to increase. Monitoring circuit 27 monitors the magnitude of signal (i) and, when it reaches the 1st threshold value VS1, controls switch 28 to lead signal (i) to loop filter 17. At this point in time, a reference carrier reproducing circuit is changed from the operation of the phase synchronous loop up to the point over to that of a mean-value automatic frequency control loop and then controlled so that the frequency of VCO14 will near the carrier frequency of an input PSK wave by using as a control voltage signal (i) having passed through loop filter 17. When signal (i) reaches the 2nd threshold value VS2, it is reset to the original phase synchronous loop operation again.
