Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the titled compound in high selectivity and in high yield, by reacting a halogenonitrobenzene derivative with an alkali cyanide in a nonproton polar solvent or in a basic solvent in the presence of a copper chloride, etc.
CONSTITUTION: A compound (e.g., 2-chloronitrobenzene, etc.; with the proviso that 2,3-dichloronitrobenzene is omitted) shown by the formula I (X is halogen; n is 1W3) is reacted with an alkali cyanide (e.g., NaCN, etc.) in a nonproton polar solvent (e.g., DMF, etc.) or in a basic solvent (e.g., pyridine, etc.) in the presence of CuCl or CuCl and cupric salt (e.g., cupric sulfate, etc.), to give a compound shown by the formula II. The reaction temperature is 100W220°C. Amounts of the alkali cyanide as a starting substance and CuCl are 1.0W2.0 times the molar amount of the compound shown by the formula I and 0.05W1.0mol amount of it.
