Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase the constant voltage characteristics as well as reduce the power loss with a simple circuit constitution, by providing the switching transistor, the error amplifying part of 2-step amplification, the smoothing circuit and others.
CONSTITUTION: With the short circuit given between output terminals t01 and t02, switching transistor 2 is cut off. Thus such accident as to burn up transistor 2 due to the overcurrent can be avoided. When the short failure is released, a slight amount of current flows through resistance 17. And thus voltage V0 of terminals t01 and t02 increase slightly by voltage ΔV, and accordingly the base voltage of transistor 11b of the next step also increases by ΔV. As a result, the collector current of transistor 11b flows, and then the collector current of transistor 2 also flows. As a result, the voltage of t01 and t02 increases more up to normal output voltage V0. Furthermore, the constant voltage characteristics of V0 is flat and good since no resistance for current detection is incorporated.
