Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled Al alloy maintaining sufficient electrical conductivity and tensile strength by casting an alloy having a specified composition contg. Zr, Si, etc., working the alloy at a predetermined reduction ratio while cooling it at a specified cooling rate, and carrying out cold working and heat treatment under specified conditions.
CONSTITUTION: An alloy consisting of 0.2W1.5% Zr, 0.1W1% Si, 0.005W0.02% Be and the balance Al and impurities is melted, cast, and worked at ≥80% reduction ratio while being cooled to ≤200°C finish temp. at ≥5°C/sec cooling rate. The worked alloy is then cold worked at ≥65% and heat treated at 300W450°C for 20W100hr to obtain an Al alloy having superior heat resistance and capable of being used as a material for not only an overhead line but also electrically conductive lines of a wide range.
