Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture a Cu alloy satisfying superior electric conductivity, mechanical properties and heat resistance at the same time by hot working a Cu alloy ingot contg. Fe and P followed by cooling at a prescribed cooling rate, cold working at a specified reduction ratio, process annealing, cold working at a specified reduction ratio and final annealing.
CONSTITUTION: A Cu-Fe-P alloy ingot contg. 0.05W0.15% Fe and 0.025W0.045% P is hot-rolled, cooled at ≥25°C/min average cooling rate from 700°CW450°C, and cold-worded at ≥50% reduction ratio. The cold worked Cu alloy is process-annealed at 450W550°C for 5W180min, cold-worked at ≥60% reduction ratio, and finally annealed at 200W450°C to obtain the desired Cu alloy with high electric conductivity. This Cu alloy is especially suitable for use as a lead frame material for a semiconductor apparatus.
