Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable a constant and stable combustion by calculating an excess air ratio based on load variations of the fuel and automatically controlling the flow rate of the exhaust gas and the flow rate of air blown into the furnace as needed on the basis of detection of the oxygen concentration and temperature of the exhaust gas.
CONSTITUTION: The exhaust gas denitrification heating furnace 11 is fed from an exhaust pipe 13 with exhaust gas which contains a relatively large amount of oxygen. A burner 12 attached to the furnace 11 is connected with an exhaust gas branch pipe 14, an air blowing pipe 15 and a fuel gas blowing pipe 16. The oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas branch pipe 14 is detected by a sensor 18, which outputs a signal representing the detected value to an air fuel ratio setting circuit 27 and a selecting circuit 28. The temperature and flow rate of the exhaust gas are detected by sensors 19 and 20 respectively, the outputs of which are used for controlling an exhaust gas flow rate adjusting valve 21. The air fuel ratio setting circuit 27 receives an air fuel ratio signal outputted from an adder-subtractor 32 connected to a fuel flow rate meter 25 and outputs to the selecting circuit 28 a signal setting the exhaust gas flow rate. The selecting circuit 28 controls properly a pair of controllers 30 and 35 through a pair of distributors 33 and 34 in accordance with the detected oxygen concentration.
