Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce fuel consumption per unit product and to make fluctuation in hot-air temp. smaller, by determination of fuel supply for the next combustion cycle on the basis of an opening of a control valve for mixing cold air so as to control combustion at a hot stove.
CONSTITUTION: The result of temp. measurement by a hot-air thermometer 4 installed on the way of hot-air main pipe 3 connecting a hot stove 1 and a blast furnace 2 is fed to a hot-air-temp. controller 5. The controller 5 controls the opening of a control valve 7 for mixing cold air, and the temp. of hot air sent to the blast furnace is controlled by varying the mixing ratio of the cold air. Fuel supply to the next combustion cycle is determined from an indication showing heat level of the hot stove 1 obtained from the opening of cold-air-control valve 7. The opening of the valve 7 flucturates depending upon the variation in gas calorie, variation in atmospheric temp., and other factors. For this reason, control output of the hot-air- temp. controller 5, which controls the opening of the valve 7, is fed to a computer 9 through an oscillator 8 continuously from the beginning to the end of blast to effect prescribed computation. The result of computation controls a fuel-supply control valve 13, thus controlling the next cycle combustion at the hot stove 1.
