Abstract

PURPOSE: To operate a carbonization furnace, steadily, by comparing the standard carbonization temperature with the detected temperature and controlling the temperature by adjusting the air flow automatically according to the temperature difference, and decreasing the air flow when the oxygen concentration in the furnace represented by the oxygen concentration signal having preference to the above temperature signal exceeds the carbonization limit.
CONSTITUTION: The temperature in the carbonization furnace 1 is detected by the temperature detector 2, and the signal is transmitted to the temperature controllers 3, 4. When there is a difference between the detected temperature and the standard carbonization temperature, the air flow supplied by the carbonization gas combustion blower 11 is adjusted according to the difference by the output signal from the temperature controller 4, to control the partial combustion of the carbonization gas and adjust the furnace temperature to the standard temperature. Separately, the oxygen concentration in the furnace is detected by the detector 15, and when the level is above the carbonization limit, the air flow to the furnace is automatically decreased by the output signal from the oxygen concentration controller 16 which has preference to the temperature signal, thereby controlling the furnace atmosphere to the carobnization atmosphere and enabling the smooth combustion in the furnace.
