Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce heat loss and generation of black smoke by a method wherein the total sum of the heat losses of exhaust gas as well as unburnt exhaust gas is computed from the concentrations of O2, CO and the like in the exhaust gas of a combustion furnace such as a boiler or the like and the amount of supplying air is controlled so as to reduce this total sum. CONSTITUTION:Master signals such as the set temperature of the heating furnace 1 or the like are inputted into a fuel control circuit 20 to effect the fuel control through a fuel indicating and controlling meter 30. An air amount setter 9 inputs a logical air amount into a high signal selector 8 and an operating unit 6 and controls an air flow valve 32 through an air control circuit 10 and an air indicating and controlling meter 11. On the other hand, an exhaust gas temperature in a a fue 2 is detected by a senser 22 while the concentrations of O2 and CO therein are detected by the sensers 4, 5, and all of them are inputted into the operating unit 6 respectively. The operating unit 6 computes the total sum of the heat losses due to excess air and the unburnt matters and sets the amount of the supplying air so as to reduce this total sum thereby controlling the air flow controlling valve 32. Thus, the heat losses and the generation of black smoke may be reduced.
