Abstract

PURPOSE: To dehydrate city gas simply and at low cost for the carburation of a low- calorie gas manufactured by a method in which an appropriate amount of a liquefied petroleum gas for carburation is injected into a carbureting dehydrator provided after a water scrubbing process to mix it with a low-calorie gas for cooling.
CONSTITUTION: In a series of processes from the manufacture to the supply of a city gas, having a water scrubbing process 14, a low-calorie gas manufactured in a gas-manufacturing furnace 1 is first carbureted partly by adding one portion of liquefied petroleum gas B to a comparatively high-temperature gas before the water scrubbing process 14, as in the conventional case. Then, another portion of the liquefied petroleum gas B is atomized in the liquid state through a nozzle 37 into a carbureting dehydrator 15 provided after the water scrubbing process 14 to secondly carburet wet gas sent through an inlet pipe 33 into the apparatus 15, where the wet gas is concurrently cooled and dehydrated by the latent heat of evaporation.
