Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain pure water from sea water through utilization of waste heat by introducing the exhaust gas of diesel engines, gas turbines, etc. into sea water to heat and leading the sea water into an evaporator thereby cooling evaporating water.
CONSTITUTION: The exhaust gas from an engine 1 such as diesel engine, gas turbine, heating furnace or the like is deprived of its heat in a boilder 3 and is thereby cooled. Further in a sea water heater 4, it is directly contacted from the sea water from a sea water injecting means 4b to heat the sea water, whereby the gas is heated down to atmospheric temperature. This gas is then released into the atmosphere. The heated sea water is led into an evaporating part 51 whose pressure is reduced by an air ejector 51b, where it is evaporated, thence it is made to pure water in a distillation part 52. The pure water is stored in a tank 12 through a pump 10. On the other hand, the sea water being supplied by a pump 6 cools the steam in the distillation part 52 to make it to pure water. After it has been heated there, it goes to the spraying means 4b.
