Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent tar from dissolving when liquid fuel comes in contact with tar at a low temperature by a method wherein the fuel of the liquefied petroleum gas type internal combustion engine is brought into contact with a tar separator only at a high temperature.
CONSTITUTION: The liquefied gas in a fuel tank 10 is introduced into a mixing pipe 22 through a fuel filter 14, a fuel cut-off valve 16, a tar separating collector 18 and a regulator 20. The internal part of the collector 18 is divided into a fuel passage 36 Which can pass through the collector 18 by a fuel passage-change-over plate 30 opened and shut by a thermowax 34 and another fuel passage 42 which is provided with a plurality of fins 44 in itself and separates tar. At the bottom of the fuel passage 42 there is provided a hot water chamber 46 into which cooling water is introduced. Therefore, liquefied gas runs through the fuel passage 42 when the engine is subjected to a temperature higher than specified.
