Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the temperature of an excess fuel oil fed back from a diesel engine, by heat-exchanging the oil with a fuel in a fuel oil clarifying tank.
CONSTITUTION: A fuel in a fuel oil service tank 1 containing air is isolated from the air by an air separator 2 and sent via a fuel oil booster pump 3 and a fuel oil heater 4 to be injected into a combustion chamber from a fuel injection nozzle of a diesel engine 5. Before running back to the original air separator 2, the resultant excess fuel is cooled while passing through a heat-exchanger 13 inside a fuel oil clarifying tank 10. The tank 10 is a means that when a fuel within the service tank 1 is reduced, the fuel inside the tank 10 is supplied into a tank 1 via the heater 11 and a pump 12.
