Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the contamination of the surface of a substrate in a step of calcining two solar battery cells and to simply form the solar battery having sufficient characteristics by closely contacting the surfaces of the battery cells printed with conductive paint on the back surface and calcining the cells. CONSTITUTION:Conductive paint 4 (Al paste or the like) is coated by printing on one surface of a P type Si monocrystalline plate 1 formed with N type layer 2 on the surface. Two such elements 3 are prepared, are closely confronted on the surface not formed with the paint 4, and are retained by calcining jigs 9, 10 of alumina or the like. The elements 3 are then introduced into a calcining oven, and the paint 4 is calcined to form back surface electrode. Thus, the contamination of the surface of the substrate is prevented at the step of calcining in the back surface electrode formation, and a solar battery having sufficient characteristics can be simply formed.
