Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a film thickness of a heating resistor to be uniformly formed and to obtain excellent resolution property and printing quality to meet high speed printing needs at a low power consumption, by baking a glass paste layer of a substrate surface with the back surface of the substrate upward and the glass paste layer downward during baking it. CONSTITUTION:A glass paste layer 12 is formed on a surface of an alumina ceramics substrate 11 by a screen printing process or the like. Then, the glass paste layer 12 printed on the above-mentioned substrate 11 is baked in two steps. Firstly, it is baked at about 900 deg.C in maximum temperature for about 5min under a state of the back face of the substrate 11 downward and the glass paste layer 12 upward. Then, it is baked at about 920 deg.C of maximum temperature for about 5min under a state where the upper and lower faces of the substrate 11 are reversed. When a glazed layer 12 formed thus is observed under a scanning type electron microscope, the layer is free from exposure of a bubble and is sufficiently smooth.
