Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:Compounds of formula I (R1 is H, lower alkyl; R2 is 2 or 3 hydroxyl at least two of which are adjacent and in 2W6 positions, when R1 is H, in 3W5 positions, when R1 is lower alkyl; R3 is H, hydroxyl; R4 is H, lower alkoxy; R5 is H, acetoxy) or their salts.
USE: Antibacterial effective on gram-positive and -negative bacteria.
PREPARATION: A compound of formula II or its reactive derivative is made to react with a compound of X-(CO)m-Y (X is halogen; Y is halogen) and a compound of formula III or its reactive derivative to give the compound of formula I or its salt.
