Abstract

PURPOSE: To melt the incinerated ashes of refuse completely by a method wherein the incinerated ashes are introduced into a rotary furnace, and oxygen-containing gas is blown into the furnace while continuously feeding the furnace with fuel.
CONSTITUTION: A charging slanted plate 10 is fitted in a duct 9 which receives the incinerated refuse 13 from a refuse incinerator and charge it into the main body of the rotary furnace 1, and a converyor 11 is provided above the slanted plate 10 so as to charge coke 12 into the main body of the rotary furnace 1 together with the incinerated ashes of refuse 13. Toward the incinerated ashes of refuse 13 and the coke 12 charged in the furnace, oxygen or hot air at a temperature of about 400W 500°C is blown in through a lance 8 to burn the charged coke 12 and to melt the incinerated ashes of refuse 13.
