Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the cost of fuel and to effectively use heat source by a method wherein a carbonaceous adsorbent damaged in the process of adsorption and desorption is combusted as a heat source for regenerating adsorbent used in the dry type exhaust gas desulfurization process.
CONSTITUTION: In the dry type exhaust gas desulfurization equipment using a carbonaceous adsorbent, the carbonaceous adsorbent pulverized by repeated adsorption and desorption is combusted to heat a heat medium such as river sand or alumina thereby to form a high temperature heat medium 506. The heat medium 506 is supplied to a desorption column 104 and used as the heat source for regenerating process of the adsorbent. Thereafter, the heat medium is handled by a classifier 520 to be classified into a desulfurizing agent 15 and heat medium 523. The desulfurizing agent 15 is returned to a moving layer adsorber 101, and the heat medium 523 to a medium fluidized layer 501. In this manner, the heat source is effectively used and the cost is reduced.
