Abstract

PURPOSE: To suppress the production of NOx and to effectively remove SOx contained in combustion gas, by a method wherein desulfurizing reaction of combustion gas is performed seperately from combustion of the fuel.
CONSTITUTION: A fluidized combustion bed 3 is fluidized by blowing a fluidized gas into the bed 3, a fuel being burned evenly and perfectly. The heat produced thereupon maintains the bed 3 on the whole at a high temperature. A heated fluid in a transmitting line 10 is heated hereupon, a fluidized desulfurizing bed 4 being also heated. As a result, limestone is decarbonized to provide quicklime. Since oxygen contained in the fluidized gas is limited to a small amount, an amount of fuel NOx produced resulting from the combustion decreases. As a result of the gas being in contact with quicklime in the bed 4, an SOx contained in the combustion gas is absorbed and removed under a high temperature condition which is suitable for desulfurization. After the dust contained therein is further removed, the resultant exhaust gas is exhausted into the air.
