Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to refine a fuel gas by coal gasification for a gas-turbine use or the like by contacting a high temperature gas with a removing agent adsorbing alkali metal as well as hydrogen sulfide at a high temperature condition.
CONSTITUTION: A high temperature gas is contacted with a removing agent adsorbing alkali metal as well as hydrogen sulfide at a high temperature condition. For example, a high temperature coal gas produced in a gasification furnace 1 is treated by a cyclone 2, 3 to remove ash and, thereafter, passed through a desulfurization reating apparatus 4 filled with a porous removing agent comprising iron oxide to remove hydrogen sulfide within a gas by fixing as iron sulphate. Sabsequently, this gas is passed through an alkali metal removing apparatus 5 filled with a porous removing agent comprising iron oxide to remove alkali metal within a gas by adsorbing to iron oxide and, thereafter is mixed with air from a compressor 7 and combusted in a combustion device 6 to drive a gas turbine 8. A removing agent with reduced removing capacity is regenerated in a regenerating apparatus 9, 12 respectively and reused.
