Abstract
PURPOSE: To render installation of an oxidizer, etc. unnecessary, by introducing the residual gas freed of a simple sulfur into a boiler in a simple sulfur recovery step in the dry type desulfurization process of a boiler exhaust gas.
CONSTITUTION: Coal is fed to boiler 1 from line 21, a part of it is introduced into carbonization oven 6 through line 28, the semicoke produced in oven 6 is sent to converter 4 from line 30, and partly fed through line 29 to activating oven 7, and the activated coke is sent to adsorber 2 through line 31. On the other hand, waste gas emitted from boiler 1 is led to adsorber 2, contacted with the semicoke to remove sulfur, and exhausted through a smokestack 5 to the outside. The semicoke having adsorbed sulfur oxide is sent to desorber 3 to release SO2, and the gas rich in SO2 is fed to converter 4. The reactivated semicoke is returned to adsorber 2. SO2 reacts with C in converter 4 to give simple S, recovered from line 39, the residual gas is introduced to Claus reactor 10 to produce simple S from H2S, and the residual gas freed of sulfur is fed to boiler 1.
