The semicoke having adsorbed sulfur oxide is sent to desorber 3 to release SO2, and the gas rich in SO2 is fed to converter 4. The reactivated semicoke is returned to adsorber 2. SO2 reacts with C in converter 4 to give simple S, recovered from line 39, the residual gas is introduced to Claus reactor 10 to produce simple S from H2S, and the residual gas freed of sulfur is fed to boiler 1.
