Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the Cr-Mo steel hot molded product by omitting annealing treatment after hot molding by a procedure in which the Cr-Mo steel material composed of specific components, e.g., C, Si, etc., heated to a specific temperature, molded, processed, again heated to a specific temperature, and then cooled. CONSTITUTION:In the manufacture of Cr-Mo steel hot molded product, composed of 0.15wt% or less C, 0.5wt% or less Si, 0.27-0.63wt% Mn, 0.035wt% or less p, 0.035wt% or less S, 1.88-2.62wt% Cr, 0.85-1.15wt% Mo, and the balance Fe, the said Cr-Mo steel material is heated to a temperature between the point of transformation of Ac3 and 950 deg.C, molded and processed in a temperature range lower than the transformation point Ar3 but higher than the point Bs, and then heated to a temperature higher than 500 deg.C but lower than the transformation point Ac1, followed by cooling. Thus, omitting heat treatment after molding and process, as in the conventional cases, a Cr-Mo steel hot molded product suitable for welding structure materials for a pressure container, etc. can be obtained at low cost.
