Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a black and white copy with all the colors reproduced from a chromatic color image by subjecting a photoreceptor formed by successively laminating the first and the second photoconductive layers to primary charging and simultaneous uniform exposure to white light and subsequent charging in the dark and reverse polarity secondary charging.
CONSTITUTION: Uniform exposure to white color is carried out simultaneously with or immediately after primary charging for negatively corona-charging photoreceptor 1. As a result, first and second photoconductive layers 3, 5 are both made conductive , and the negative charge of the surface layer is distributed near the border between second conductive layer 5 and insulating layer 4, and the positive charge is distributed near the border between first conductive layer 3 and insulating layer 4. Subsequent secondary charging for positively corona-charging photoreceptor 1 in the dark distributes the positive charge on the surface of layer 5, and the negative charge near the border between substrate 2 and layer 3. The following image exposure permits a white copy without any nonreproduced color to be obtained using a photoreceptor capable of forming 2-color copies.
