Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the preferable operation of an inverter by firing in unbalance thyristors of the main circuit DC voltage source of the inverter having a commutation auxiliary voltage source prior to the operation of the inverter, thereby simplifying the circuit. CONSTITUTION:A main circuit DC voltage source 1 having 3-phase thyristor pure bridge circuit 20a and a commutation auxiliary voltage source 4 having 3-phase half-wave-connected rectifying circuit 23 and a capacitor 24 are provided, the outputs of a logic circuit 30 and a regulating resistor 34 are applied by an operation command to phase controlling circuits 35, 36 to fire only the negative side thyristor of the circuit 20a, thereby charging the capacitor 24. Thereafter, all the thyristors of the circuit 20a are fired with the output of an on-delay circuit 32 after a predetermined time with a phase reference signal as the output of a voltage controlled amplifier 10, and are operated in an operating mode. Accordingly, the thyristors of the circuit 20a can be fired in an unbalance to secure the commutation auxiliary voltage, thereby smoothly performing the operation.
