Abstract

PURPOSE:To attenuate the energy of an inductive load through the short-circuiting circuit by a method wherein a pair of P side and N side of a thyristor connected to an arbitrary phase in a thyristor pure bridge rectifier are conducting concurrently, and then the P and N sides are immediately short-circuited to cut-off. CONSTITUTION:A DC output from a three-phase AC supply 3 which is controlled by a gate controlling device 2 by way of a thyristor pure bridge rectifier 4 is supplied to an inductive load 1. When the three-phase AC supply 3 side and the inductive load 1 side must be cut off in a short time for trouble or other reason, an arbitrary phase or WP-WN, for example, is taken as a by-pass pair, and immediately thereafter P side and N side which are outputs of the thyristor pure bridge rectifier 4 are short-circuited with a contact 5, thereby cutting off the by-pass thristor WP and WN. An energy stored on the induction load 1 is thus discharged not through the thyristors but through the contact 5.
