Abstract

PURPOSE: To decompose hydrazines to nitrogen and water, recover copper compounds and efficiently remove the hydrazines by mixing the copper compounds with waste water contg. hydrazines and filtering the same by allowing the water to contact air.
CONSTITUTION: One or more of copper compounds such as copper sulfate, copper chloride, and copper oxide are injected through an injection pipe 4 and mixed into and with the waste water contg. hydrazines flowing from a raw water pipe 3 into an oxidizing tank 1. Next, it is contacted with the air diffused from an air feed pipe 5 through an air diffusion pipe 6 so that it is oxidized. Thence, the aerated liquid of the tank 1 is sent through a pipe 7 into a filter tank 2, where the aerated liquid is filtered by the two layers, upper layer 2b and lower layer 2a, and solids are separated from liquid. The filtered water flows out from a pipe 8. The solids are washed by the back-washing water fed from a pipe 9, are returned through a return pipe 10 into the tank 1 and are reused as copper compounds.
