Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the detention time of waste water and the volume of a device for treating the waste water and to enable separation of excessive sludge from carrier by increasing the pressure at a fluidized-bed sealed tank outlet after dissolving oxygen gas in organic waste water in a gas and liquid mixer to thereby accelerate the oxidizing decomposition of organic materials.
CONSTITUTION: A pump 12 is operated to pressurize waste water and to feed it to an oxygen gas dissolving tank 11. The oxygen is dissolved in the waste water in the tank 11 to saturation dissolved oxygen concentration corresponding to the pressure and water temperature. Then, the waste water is filled through the inlet 7b of a tank 7 to form particle carrier fluidized-bed in fluidized state. The pressure in the tank 7 is raised in this state to higher than 1 kg/cm2 at the outlet 7a of the tank 7 to thereby oxidize to decompose the organic materials in the waste water and to feed the treated water to next step. Excessive sludge is drawn through a sludge collecting tube 15 and a sludge drawing tube 14 into a sludge concentration tank 16 to separate supernatant from concentrated sludge. The supernatant thus separated is again flown into the treated water in the tank 7.
