Abstract
PURPOSE: To decompose organic substances in a sewage to a lower molecular substance and to facilitate the denitrification with a high efficiency, by arranging an anaerobic disposing vessel and an aerobic disposing vessel each adjacent together, placing a rotary contact member in each vessel, and transferring the sewage successively between the anaerobic disposing vessel and the aerobic disposing vessel.
CONSTITUTION: A sewage inflow in introduced into an anaerobic disposing chamber 1a, where organic substances in the sewage are decomposed to a lower molecular substance. The sewage flows over the chamber 1a into an aerobic disposing chamber 2a, where the organics are separated from the solution under an aerobic atmosphere. The treated sewage is then carried to another aerobic disposing chamber 2b adjacent to the first chamber 2a, where the sewage is nitrificated. Thereafter, the sewage is denitrificated in an anaerobic disposing chambers 1b, 1c. The denitrificated solution flows over the anaerobic chambers into an aerobic disposing chamber 2c, and then to a precipitation pool 5. In this apparatus, a rotary contact member is arranged independently in each anaerobic or aerobic disposing chamber, so that it is not necessary to use an agitator and that a pipe line can be simplified.
