Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the title copper alloy for a spring material by alloying Cu with a specified amt. of Ni and Zn or further adding trace amts. of Mn, Mg, B, Co, Sn, etc.
CONSTITUTION: The alloy has a compsn. consisting of Ni 3W10%, Zn 5W17% and the balance Cu. To the alloy may be added at least one of Mn 0.03W0.8%, B 0.0002W0.003% and Mg 0.01W0.3% and may further be added Co 0.01W1.0% and/or Sn 0.01W1.0%. A slab of this alloy is repeatedly subjected to cold rolling and annealing to manufacture a spring material with superior corresion resistance and solderability.
