Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the rise of temperature in a runner room by releasing the leaked water accumulated between a guide vane and the outer periphery of a runner to the air, utilizing the differential pressure between the atmospheric pressure.
CONSTITUTION: In idle operation such as in starting, compressed air is fed into a runner room and the level of water is depressed, and at the same time, water discharge valves 8 and 9 are opened. Then, the leaked water from a guide vane 2 in closure is drained into a suction pipe 5 through drain pipes 6 and 7. After the lapse of time, leaked water is accumulated between the guide vane 2 and the outer periphery of a runner 1, and when the water enters into the runner 1, the idling power increases. The increase of the idling power is detected by an electric power conversion relay 15, and a drain valve 13 is opened, and the leaked water is drained to a drain pit 12 through a drain pipe 11. When the water in the outer periphery of the runner 1 is drained, and the idling power decreases, the drain valve 13 is closed, and the release of the compressed air to the atmosphere is prevented.
