Abstract

PURPOSE: To accelerate the exhaust of residual air by sending high pressure water to the runner room from outside simltaneously when the residual air is discharged from the upper part of the runner room.
CONSTITUTION: While residual air is discharged from the exhaust tube 12 at the upper part of the runner room 3a using the control valve 12a with the guide vanes 2 and 4 fully closed, positive flooding is perfomed by properly sending high pressure water to the runner room 3a from the casing 6 to temporarily open the guide vane 4 at a small scale. Then, while the residual air is discharged by opening the control valve 11a from the exhaust tube 11 at the upper part of the runner 1a, positive flooding is performed by temprarily opening the guide vane 2 at a small scale and properly sending the high pressure water from the flooding return channel communicating to the runner room 1a through the said the guide vane to the runner room. As s result, the exhaust of residual air is accelerated.
