Abstract
PURPOSE: To efficiently supply and exhaust air, by communicating a runner chamber of an upper stage portion and a flow path portion in the next stage portion or a lower stage portion with a hole mounted to a main shaft, and by supplying and exhausting air through the main shaft.
CONSTITUTION: A feed and exhaust pipe 3 is installed into a main shaft S. When the operation of a hydraulic turbine is stopped and a pump is worked, a valve 5 for feed and exhaust at the lower stage runner side is closed, a guide vane 6 at the lower stage runner side is slightly opened, a feed and exhaust valve 4 at the upper stage runner side is opened, and air is supplied by means of a compressor, thus pushing down a surface of water in an upper stage runner. The feed and exhaust valve 4 at the upper stage runner side is closed the feed and exhaust valve 5 at the lower stage runner side is opened, and the guide vane 6 at the lower stage runner side is closed, thus supplying air to a lower stage runner. When exhausting air, the feed and exhaust valve 4 at the upper stage runner side is opened, the guide vane 6 is opened and air is exhausted. Water is filled in the lower stage runner, a feed and exhaust valve 2 is opened, the upper stage runner is filled with water and a pump is operated.
