Abstract

PURPOSE: To accelerate the exhaust of residual air by sending high pressure water to the runner room from outside simultaneously when the residual air is discharged from the upper part of the runner room.
CONSTITUTION: Residual air is discharged by opening the control 12a from the exhaust tube 12 at the upper part of the runner room 3a with the guide vanes 2 and 4 fully closed and high pressure water is supplied to the return channel 5 from the casing 6 by opening the control valve 10a of the water supply tube 10. Then, positive flooding is performed by sending the high pressure water to the runner room 3a from the lower side of the runner room 3a which communicates to the return channel 5. Further, the residual air is also discharged in the lowermost stage section by opening the control valve 11a of the exhaust tube 11 at the upper part of the runner room 1a and flooding is performed by directly sending water to the runner room 1a from the lower side of the runner room 1a. This permits the exhaust of residual air to be accelerated.
