Abstract

PURPOSE: To complete exhaustion quickly by filling the passage section with water through simultaneous feeding of water into a runner chamber on the lowest pressure stage section from a suction pipe when residual air is discharged from the upper portion of the runner chamber of a multi-atage hydraulic machine.
CONSTITUTION: While guide vanes 2 and 11 are fully closed, as for the lowest pressure stage section, residual air within runner passages 6 and 7 is evacuated through an exhaust tube provided on the top of a runner 10 and water is introduced to fill the runner passage 6 and 7 from a suction tube 8. Then, a control valve 16 is closed. As for the upper stage, a part of residual air within runner passages 3 and 4 and a return passage 5 is evacuated through an exhaust tube 13 provided on the top of the passage of the runner 9 while a water filling tube 12 provided in the proximity of the main shaft 17 in the return passage 5 is opened to fill thereof with water from the lower stage runner passages 6 and 7. After the water is filled completely, a control valve 15 and the water filling tube are closed. In this manner, evacuation of the residual air and filling water are conducted very quickly for a multi-stage hydraulic machine.
