Abstract

PURPOSE: To contrive not to cause delay in exhausting air when starting a pump under the condition of pressing down the water level by installing exhaust ports, exhaust chambers to exhaust air in runner chambers and in their flow paths, and water sealing devices on a multiplestage pump water wheel equipped with a movabl guide vane.
CONSTITUTION: With a movable guide vane 10 in fully closed condition, compressed air is blown in, water that is put lower than a runner chamber 5 is pressed down to directly below a low-pressure stage runner 3, both a high-pressure stage runner 2 and the runner 3 are started in the direction of a pump, and at the same time as they are arranged in parallel with the system, exhaustion is started through an exhaust pipeline 30. With progress of exhaustion, water level in a blowpipe 17, and are stagnates in the middle of the runner 3, which becomes the condition surrounded by water wall.
