CONSTITUTION: Program overrun detection unit 3 is connected to an information processing unit and a main memory, and unit 3 is constituted by overrun detection part which detects errors of jump instructions and initial value set part 41 for check data used for detection, and address information from the information processing unit is set to address receiving circuit 31. This information is sent to check decision circuit 32, and the signal is sent to check data read control circuit 33 as jump destination address when the jump true signal of jump execution signal line d is ON. Then, the output of circuit 33 is sent to check data storage control circuit 35 to obtain data from check data storage part 36, and jump sources and jump destinations are caused to correspond to each other by circuit 35. Abnormal jump instructions are detected by detection circut 34 and are returned to the information processing unit.
