Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent adhesion of dust to turbine, by adding to exhaust gas being saturated with steam and supplied to an axial-flow turbine, water having a lower temperature than the exhaust gas continuously at a weight ratio of 0.5W5% to the exhaust gas.
CONSTITUTION: Exhaust gas cleaned by a wet type dust remover and saturated with steam is continuously added with cooling water having a lower temperature than the exhaust gas at a weight ratio of 0.5W5%, whereby mist of dust is produced with moisture being sticked around fine particles of dust as if these fine particles of dust function as nucleus of mist. Since inertia of the mist is fairly small, its flow in the cascade of axial-flow turbine is substantially the same as the gas flow, so that adhesion of dust to the cascade becomes difficult. If it is captured by turbine, direct adhesion of dust to the turbine can be prevented by the function of water. In the turbine, gas is swirled so that dust is separated effectively from outlet port 39 by the function of centrifugal force.
