Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance the dust collecting efficiency when dust is collected from waste gas from a sintering machine with an electrical dust precipitator, by adding sprayed water to the waste gas to control the temp. of the gas at the inlet of the precipitator to a high temp. range.
CONSTITUTION: Waste gas from a sintering machine is gathered in a settling chamber 7 through wind boxes 5 and branched boxes 6 and fed to an electrical dust precipitator 9 through piping 8 to collect dust, and after removing gaseous SOx with a desulfurizer 11, the gas is released into the air. At this time, the temp. of the waste gas is measured with a thermometer 21 at the inlet of the precipitator 9, and the gas is cooled with 4 series of cooling units in the chamber 7 so as to control the temp. to the high temp. range of 170W195°C. Since the temp. of waste gas is not excessively high, explosion due to contained fats and oils, etc. is prevented, and a reduction in the dust collecting efficiency of the precipitator due to the excessively low temp. is also prevented. Thus, dust can be safely collected with superior efficiency.
