Abstract

PURPOSE: To drastically save the fuel through substantially complete removal of SOx by a method wherein SOx-contg. waste gas is freed from SO2 by wet-type desulfurizer and then freed from SOx-contg. mist by use of a wet-type dust precipitator.
CONSTITUTION: Waste gas from a boiler is guided in a wet-type desulfurizer 2 having 3% sulfuric acid as absorbent liquid to remove SO2 by absorption, then introduced into a 600-kV wet-type dust precipitator 3. SO3 is charged by action of electric field in the equipment, moved by the field, and collected as sulfuric acid, which is discharged outside and is neutralized. Waste gas from the dust precipitator is discharged through stack 4 whose internal surface is lined with cement.
