Abstract

PURPOSE: To remove completely SO2 existing in exhaust gas as well as SO3 mist present by adding NH3 to exhaust gas after wet type desulfurization process and then subjecting it to a wet type electric dust collector.
CONSTITUTION: Combustion exhaust gas from a boiler 1 is sent to a wet type desulfurizer to absorb and remove SO2 present, and then mixed with NH3 injected from a conduit 3 into an exhaust gas path 4, where SO2 present in the exhaust gas becomes fine (NH4)2SO3 powder. Then, the exhuast gas is directed into a wet type electric dust collector 5 where SO3 mists are electrically charged in electrostatic field inside the dust collector 5 to sulfuric acid which is in turn collected and also the fine powder of (NH4)2SO3 is also removed. The SO3 mists collected are neutralized and then discharged to the outside, and the exhaust gas from the dust collector 5 is discharged through a cement-lined stack 6.
