Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the lowering of the performance of a catalyst due to deposition of SOx-NH3 combinations at low temperatures and the accumulation of dust by a method in which NH3 is injected into SOx containing waste gas to convert SOx into ammonium sulfate or acid ammonium sulfate particles, these mist and dust in the waste gas are arrested by an electric dust collector, and the waste gas is subjected to denitrification treatment.
CONSTITUTION: Waste gas discharged from a boiler 1 passes through a flue 2, is cooled to approx. 150W200°C by an air preheater 3, and then mixed with ammonia injected from an ammonia injection line 10 in the middle of the fuel 4. The ammonia is reacted with SOx present in the waste gas quantitatively for the most part to form ammonium sulfate particles. The particles thus formed and dust present in the waste gas are then collected by an electric dust collector 5. The waste gas deprived of dust and ammonium sulfate particles is further mixed with NH3 required for denitrification reaction, injected from the ammonia injection line 11, and then directed to a denitrification reactor 7 packed with an active catalyst for ammoniacal reductive reaction of NOx.
