Abstract
PURPOSE: High temperature waste gas such as flue gas is effectively and simply cleaned while eliminating the need for complicated pretreatment such as dust and catalyst poison removal and wihtout producing flue polluting acidic ammonium sulfate.
CONSTITUTION: A high temperature waste gas treatment comprises the process of (a) reducing the high temperature waste gas by adding NH3 in amount of NOx- NO≤NH3≤NOx, (b) cooling the reduced gas to a temperature below 200°C, (c) oxdizing the cooled, reduced gas by adding ozone containing gas, and (d) cleaning the oxidized gas by cleaning solution essentially consisting of sulfite containing metal ions. For example, a high temperature waste gas is fed from the flue 1 to the reducing chamber 2 equipped with NH3 feed bath 3, guided through duct 4 into the cooling tower 5, admitted through duct 9 into the reactor 10 having the ozone generator 11, and finally introduced into the cleaning tower 13 through duct 12.
