Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the cooling effect of windings as a whole through the reduction of temperature rise of the windings by disposing a plurality of spacers with the space to each other at the side of core windings and inserting another spacers between windings layers.
CONSTITUTION: This apparatus consists of cores housed in a tank in which coolant is enclosed, windings 5 comprising of strands 51 wound around the cores and paper insulators 52 wound around the strands, spacers 6 attached to an insulator 8 between the windings to from coolant passages 7 for cooling the windings, and inner and outer groove-shaped insulators 9, 10 to intensify the insulation degree between the windings. In addition, the provision of the spacers 11 between the spacers 6 or the inner and outer groove-shaped insulators 9, 10 as well as between the windings 5 to produce coolant passages 12 increase the cooling area of the windings 5 and enables to flow the coolant more positively due to differential pressure caused between spacers 6 or the insulators 9, 10. As a result, it becomes possible to reduce the pressure loss for the whole windings and decrease the temperature rise in average.
