Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the cooling effect of a main leg and to prevent its extension due to heat by a method wherein a cross sectional area of a cooling duct is enlarged by inserting into the main leg a metal spacer with the form of a thin plate. CONSTITUTION:An external leg 2 is arranged by inserting into it an insulating spacer 6 having a square cross section where a cooling duct 7 having a square cross section is formed, but a main leg 1 is arranged by inserting a corrugated metal spacer made of nonmagnetized material in the form of a thin plate. For this reason, the cross sectional area of the cooling duct 7 for the main leg is made larger than that of the cooling duct 7 for the external leg 2, so that the larger quantity of insulating oil flows, improving the cooling effect of the main leg 1. Increase in loss of iron caused by the force of compression being generated by the extension due to heat can be prevented, thus the contraction of the cooling apparatus is made possible and the suppresion of the generation of damage of the winding at the iron core can be realized.
