Abstract

1,014,751. Transformers. BRUCE PEBBLES & CO. Ltd. Jan. 31, 1962 [Nov. 15, 1960], No. 39258/60. Heading H1T. A heat insulating pad 14 is fixed by sheet steel plates 15 to the inner surface of a plain tank 13 containing a dry type 3-phase transformer 11, 12 to reduce the temperature of the outer surface of the tank above the core and winding assembly. The latter of Class C or Class H type insulation, can be run at a higher temperature when such a pad is in position. The tank may be filled with air or nitrogen.
