Abstract
The mounting and cooling late is for rectangular cored transformers. The transformer is wound on an orthodox former (2) of some rigid insulating material in which are held the E and I laminations. The mounting plate is in two halves (9a, 9b) each half being 'T' shaped, the leg (12a, 12b) of the 'T' fitting into the former between the former wall and the laminations. The plate is folded at two points such that the former is held clear of the mounting surface. The plate is chosen to be compatible with the laminations, i.e. is of silicon steel, aluminium etc.
